❤️ I love an out of season wedding! And the brave couples who choose to get married out of the warm Summer months. Though in the UK you can’t guarantee the weather even in the height of Summer. This ‘Fruit Petal Twist’ wedding cake was for a lovely October wedding in Brighton. The bride was inspired by our previous three-tier ‘Fruit Petal Twist’ design which I adapted it for a two-tier cake with two mini wedding cakes in complimentary flavours to cater for dietary requirements. The seasonal wedding cake flavours were: - cherry & dark chocolate sponge w/ kirsch filling- fig, orange & almond w/ rose vanilla filling And these recipes were adapted into the vegan and gluten free flavour options. It’s such a cute option to have mini cakes for your guests with dietary requirements. Then nobody has to miss out when you cut your cake. Love From Luisa x

⁣⁣⁣⁣This little two tier wedding cake was actually my own mini wedding cake last March…⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣We planned to have an intimate day; the ceremony, cake cutting with champagne and an informal party of about 30 guests. Little did I know this was to become the only option for many months to come.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣We were planning a huge blow out in the summer of 2020 (with a huge tiered wedding cake of course!). But Corona virus had bigger plans…⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣We postponed our initial date hoping to reschedule for Spring 2021, when this seemed like it wouldn’t be possible we looked to the Summer of 2021 but our venue was fully booked. We are now having to decide if we will go ahead in 2022 or have a big party further down the line. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣So to anyone who had a wedding booked for 2020, I know how you feel! Both as a business and a bride. Our wedding cake making season has also been put on hold and we are hoping to be able to go ahead as normal by Spring/Summer but nothing is certain in these crazy times.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Rest assured if you have booked a wedding cake with me, or if you want to enquire about booking for 2021/2022 we can discuss all your options and will work with you to be super flexible around your big (or small) day. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Love From Luisa x

2021/2022 wedding cake diary now open...⁣ link in bio 💕⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Mini weddings (and mini wedding cakes) were all the range this year. I wonder who would’ve predicted that back in 2019? ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Hopefully we’ll go back to some sort of normalcy soon but in the mean time it looks like the trend for more intimate weddings with fewer guests and more personalisation is the trend for 2021.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣I love creating smaller wedding cakes for these close affairs with the most cherished family and friends. The plan was to use this for promotional material for 2020 where we had big plans for what was to be our 'best year yet'... (I am sure you can all relate). Skip forward to 2020 and along came Covid-19, lockdown, further restrictions and an almost fully cancelled wedding season. It didn't feel too relevant to share news of Pop-Ups and collaborations that had been put on hold. Until now!
